Inventor & President | Robocast Inc. & Interactive Media Universe LLC
Damon Torres is a multimedia producer, software developer, inventor, designer and consultant who has founded seven digital media companies since 1983.
Damon invented and patented the “Automated browsing system for publishers and users on networks serving internet and remote devices” that was the basis of major patent infringement lawsuits against Apple and Microsoft. Damon has licensed his invention to large companies including Vevo, the music video distributor. This invention describes how multimedia content can be played hands-free, and various ways playlist content can be monetized, analyzed, modified and personalized.
Robocast’s impact strategy involves companies licensing our playlist engine technology and methods are then enrolled in an impact messaging campaign system that can both deliver positive multi media and wrap highly negative content in warnings and filters. Robocast considers this part of its patent portfolio Ethical AI.
He also created some of the world’s first Web sites, mobile media for smart phones, and Interactive TV programming. For Toshiba Damon produced some of the world’s first CD-ROMs, and he helped several leading magazines begin their digital publishing.
Damon’s past clients have included: Angels in America (for HBO); Airwalk Footwear; Calvin Klein Cosmetics; David Byrne (Talking Heads); Earth Day; The Economist; Esquire Magazine; Grey Advertising; Hachette Filipacchi; Laurie Anderson (top performance artist); Ogilvy & Mather; PC Expo; the Schecter Group, SPY Magazine; Toshiba; The United Nations; Young & Rubicam; and ZDNet among many others.
