Founder, Just BE | Founder, Fresh to Def Collective
Social justice activist, serial entrepreneur, change agent and artist. Hope is a passionate social entrepreneur with 10 years experience in economic development. Her passion is to help women of color become economically free. She is the founder of two companies in Oakland entitled Fresh to Def Collective and Just BE. Fresh to Def is a national woman of color empowerment brand that offers handmade accessories and business coaching by and for women of color. Just BE is a Black Women entrepreneurship social network. Her drive to do this work stems from her childhood growing up with an entrepreneurial single Black mom who struggled to grow her music, writing, and website design businesses in the 1990s. Hope observed her mom and other women in her life make tough often toxic devastating choices out of economic desperation. These experiences always stuck with her as she navigated her own mental health challenges and career path. She found freedom within entrepreneurship selling wearable art all over the world, working with over 85+ entrepreneurs in the California Bay Area, and consulting for clients like Standing in Our Power, Centro Community Partners, and The Runway Project.
